Statement of Faith
God: We believe God is ever present, all-knowing, all-powerful, and Holy Creator of all that exists. There is a presence within the Godhead three "persons", Father, Son and Holy Spirit united in essence, will, action, purpose and nature.
Jesus: Jesus the only Son of God born of a virgin, is both true God and true man without sin. His sacrifice for our sins and HIs bodliy resurrection are the cornerstone of our salvation.
Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the indwelling part of God. The comforter and intercessor, that resides within believers. He enlightens us as we read the Word.
Bible: We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible and authoritative word of God. It is the complete revelation of God's will for the redemption of mankind and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith, life and conduct.
Baptism: Baptism by immersion is a symbolic act of obedience demonstrating the death and resurrection of Jesus: our death to sin and new birth in Christ.
Lord's Supper: (Communion) the Lord's Supper is to be taken after self-examination by those who follow Jesus. It is to be taken in rememberance of Him.
The Human Condition: The human condition is sinful in nature, loved by God and capable of being forgiven.
Salvation: Or the new birth is a work of God's grace where believers become new creatures in Christ Jesus. It is a change of heart brought on by the Holy Spirit through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ/ Repentance and faith are inseparable experiences of grace.
The purpose, place and mission for the church in today's society: The purpose of the church is to comfort, to console, to encourage, the help and to admonish with love, and to be the image of Jesus to her members. The place of the church is to be one of the foremost concerns of her members thru prayer. She is to be an example of the love Jesus to the unsaved and to reach out to them with a real love and concern for their lost condition. The mission of the church is to be an emissary for Christ to carry the gospel to the world.
The role of each believer: The role of each believer is one of prayer, service and support of the pastor, church officers and leaders, each other, and the community. This should be an every present active role, not a passive one.
