Troy, KS
Senior Pastor Dennis Jennings
I’ve been in full time Christian ministry since January 2000 as a worship leader, associate pastor, and counselor. God led us to FBC of Troy in the summer and fall of 2020 and was honored to be hired here Jan 17, 2021. I have a passion for those who are lost and hurting in our community. What I can tell you is that you are valuable and that there’s a place for you here at FBC.
I graduated from MWSU with a BS in Psychology. I earned my Masters (M. Div.) from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and my Doctorate in counseling (D. Min.) from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. What I’ve learned from life and all that schooling is to keep the simplicity of the Gospel simple. I really believe James 4:8 is true. When we draw close to God, He draws close to us. My desire is to encourage you in your walk with the Lord. I believe people are more important than things and I’d like to help you know God personally and be excited about telling others.
Let me tell you how good God is: God’s so good, He gave me a Kansas girl ! I married Linda (Hrenchir) a former chiropractor from Wathena. We have one daughter, Kristen, who lives in Kansas City. (Kristen is also a MWSU grad like her dad. Go Griffs!)
Linda and I enjoy life and live each day to the fullest and for the Lord. My hobbies include singing and playing various instruments, cars, running, and golf. (Although when I’m playing golf, I’d rather be running and when I’m running, I’d rather be playing golf.)
I welcome you to FBC of Troy. Let’s apply the Truth of God’s Word to our lives and change our world for Christ !
Youth Pastor Donnie Dugger
Toshia and I were married on June 28, 1996, we have three children, a daughter-in-law, and 2 grandchildren.
God led us to First Baptist Church in the Spring of 2007. A year after joining the church, we were asked to work as Youth Volunteers at the Power House Youth Group with the teens. Toshia and I weren't sure what we were getting ourselves into, but took a leap of faith. After the third Wednesday service, I realized this is where God wanted us.
In November 2010, I had the privelege to fill the position as the Youth Pastor. After several cases of Mountain Dews, Christian concerts, Church camps, VBS's, sleepless nights, Calls and Texts from past and present teens, a couple dislocated fingers (who would have thought Dodge ball would be so crazy), and a broken collarbone (boys will be boys), God has blessed us with us so much.
Truly we give God the glory and honor for this opportunity!
